Salmonid Fishing Interpretation Center

Located on the second floor of the A Pontenova Tourist Information Office itself, it houses various materials related to river fishing of salmonids, that is, fishing for trout, char, and salmon.

It houses the most important collection of “riscos” in Galicia. “Riscos” are unique fishing lures handmade from a wide variety of materials, traditionally used at dusk for fishing char.

Among the pieces are true treasures such as a bamboo fishing rod from 1900, several wooden reels from 1910, very old rods from renowned brands like Avu Svangsta, Carswell, Hardy, as well as reels by Sagarra, Crack, Mitchell, and others.

Visitors can also admire fly fishing compositions crafted by top fly tiers such as Belarmino Martínez, Angel Cancelo, Francisco Porto, Xaquín Lorenzo, Noelia Gayoso, José Antonio Vinuesa, among others; artificial fish by Jaime Taboada; artificial insects by Vicente Longo; and much more.
