On Tuesday, April 30, 2024, a sculpture of the largest trout in the world was inaugurated in A Pontenova, whose construction and finish were spectacular.
The construction of this sculpture was carried out by teachers and students of the Vocational Training cycle in A Pontenova. They are the architects of this beautiful sculpture, accompanied by the letters of “A PONTENOVA”, manufactured with the latest generation laser cutting machine by RECENSE, which collaborates with the Dual Training of this cycle.
The Dual Training Cycle in A Pontenova was promoted in 2022 by the director of the Enrique Muruais Institute, Ms. Teresa García, and the head of Vocational Training in the area of the Xunta, Mr. Álvaro Doural. They involved the entrepreneurs of A Pontenova with the aim of reviving a Vocational Training cycle in boilermaking and welding that had been discontinued 30 years ago. The response was enthusiastic, since the area needs professionals in this field.
With the collaboration of the Institute, the Xunta, the Concello and employers, the project became a reality and will help future generations of students to find quality employment in A Pontenova.
It is a clear example of how to fix population in rural areas and to fight for the future of rural areas. These are not just words, they are deeds.
